The INDIAN-SERBIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, with the support of the Embassy of India in Belgrade and in association with the Serbian Association of Employers, organised a Conference on the topic – Employing Indian Workers – Opportunities, Challenges & Legal Framework.
The Conference was attended by Mr. Sandeep Kumar – the honourable Counsellor and HOC at the Embassy of India, Belgrade; Mr. Zoran Martinović – Deputy Minister, Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs; Ms. Sanja Gavranović – Senior adviser at the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs responsible for the implementation of the Law on the Employment of Foreigners; Mr. Milan Bosnić – Director, National Employment Service, and Mr. Miloš Jovanović – the Representative of the Union of Employers of Montenegro.
Mr. Andreja Brkić – President and Mr. Srdjan Drobnjaković – Director, Serbian Association of Employers moderated the session, which was attended by several companies from Serbia. The legal framework was deliberated upon by Advocates – Mr. Nemanja Andjelković and Mrs. Biljana Andjelković who highlighted the challenges faced while hiring workers from India. Mr. Sandeep Kumar from the Embassy of India also shared his experiences about the issues faced by Indian workers in Serbia while commending the excellent and timely support provided by the Government of Serbia to resolve such issues. The Serbian government officials acknowledged the same and updated the audience about measures being taken to improve the process which has been overhauled in February 2024, and assured all help to further streamline the hiring process.
Mr. Goran Alkesić – Vice President, INDIAN-SERBIAN CHAMBER OF BUSINESS & COMMERCE, summarised the session’s deliberations and presented the vote of thanks to the esteemed participants.
